Shilbottle Primary Curriculum

Shilbottle Primary Curriculum

We aim to provide a curriculum which is enjoyable and rewarding, a curriculum that allows time to reflect while building confidence and independence.

To view the curriculum topic web for each year group, please visit our class pages.

Children in the Early Years (Reception & Pre-Reception) follow the national strategy for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). There is a big emphasis on outdoor play and learning in both Reception and Nursery which is greatly enhanced with regular visits to our local outdoor spaces.

Children in Key Stages One and Two (Years 1 – 5) follow the National Curriculum in all subjects.  We follow a  creative approach, which allows us to adapt our curriculum to meet the needs of our children and increases flexibility to respond to local, national and international events.

Whole school events are an integral part of the school curriculum. As a whole school community we celebrate many events including Harvest Festival,  Christmas, Easter as well as Charity events
